Title: Girls Aviation Summit
Location: Pine View School in Sarasota, Fl.
Description: Girls Summit is an event for about 250 middle school girls from
all over the Sarasota county. There are three sessions for each of the 8
categories ranging from fashion, photography to aviation. In the Aviation
session there will be videos, activities and a simulator for the girls to fly. Last
year we had about 20 girls in each session. The event is free.
Volunteers: It would be helpful if we had a couple of additional speakers from
aviation: corporate pilot/airline pilot/aircraft mechanic. Whatever you are able
to donate for the event will be most appreciated. They will be used for prizes
and drawings. In exchange Girls with Wings will be in press release about the
event.

The presentation Lynda
Meeks gave to my high
school students was
fabulous! Her message
of perseverance,
determination, and
rising to life’s challenges
was timely, especially in
this tough economy.
Following the
presentation and Q & A,
many of my students
stayed afterwards to
ask follow-up questions
about careers, travel,
and living one’s dream.
Thank you for delivering
such an inspirational
message!
Jane Darrow, teacher

our airplane contests.
The girls had a fantastic
day.
