HOW ABOUT BOOKING EVENTS/PRESENTATIONS/PROGRAMS?
  • Within 1-4 hours driving - surcharge for fuel mileage & possibly
    hotel costs and lodging
  • About our interactive presentation
  • Events: Airshow/Aviation events
  • Girls STEM/Career presentations for schools

HOW CAN I ENCOURAGE GIRLS TO ATTEND OUR AVIATION EVENT?
  • Think how you can bring more girls into your airport days, Young Eagle
events, etc. Use the web to find local schools, Girl Scout councils, or 4-H
    programs.
  • Tell the teachers/leaders about your STEM (Science Technology
Engineering & Math) related aviation event open to all students including
girls and minorities. (These are Educator keywords).
  • Get in touch with some local women pilots. Talk with local FBO's and
clubs like the 99s,   Women in Aviation chapter, Whirlygirls, etc. or by
    searching the FAA/AOPA/EAA database.
  • Make sure both genders are represented in your promotional materials
    and media.
  • Be prepared to make a couple of attempts contacting organizations in
your community. Once you get the girls there, understand (gasp!) that
they are different from boys.  Some will love the shiny engines and
mechanical things, others won't. Please make an effort to help make it a
    social occasion.

The year is almost is over but there is still time to support the nonprofit
organization you love. We have just a few days to meet our $45,000 goal.

This is your chance to make a year end gift to Girls With Wings, Inc. Help us
encourage girls to pursue aviation in the year ahead.

Thanks to supporters like you, we have had an amazing
year − Presentations, Scholarships, Aviation Inspiration
Days, and more! That means thousands of girls have been inspired by STEAM:
Science, Technology, Engineering, AVIATION and Mathematics.™

But before we celebrate, we need your help by midnight December 31st. Your
special contribution will help guarantee that Girls With Wings has the funding
needed to launch our 2012 outreach events.

With one simple gift, you have the power to make a real difference in the New
Year for a proven program that uses women in aviation to inspire girls to
achieve their full potential. You can give with confidence knowing that Girls
With Wings is classified as a tax-exempt educational public charity under IRS
code 501(c)(3).

Please

With thanks and best wishes for an amazing New Year,
Lynda Meeks
Executive Director

P.S. If you've already sent your contribution, please accept my sincere
appreciation for your continued support. Forwarding this

and business associates will help even more!

Due to an overwhelming response I am posting some general "Answers to
Frequently Asked Questions" contained in most of the messages that I have
received in response the above articles.

What is our MOST PRESSING NEED?
Here are some other ways to contribute:
  • Become GWW Crewmembers.  Flight Crew is $12 per year, ATC
    Crewmember only $50.
  • Visit GWW's Pilot Shop - all profits from the sale of merchandise directly
    fund presentations and scholarships.
  • Make a secure online charitable donation via the link above.
  • Download a form to send to us a check or credit card information.
  • Invite your network of business/personal contacts to do the same.
  • Don't forget to ask your place of employment at the start of your fiscal
year if they can also help!

Another PRIORITY?
  • We need you to volunteer your skills and services. See the listings of
open volunteer positions. Most are able to be done remotely, or
    "virtually" in tech-speak.
  • Sign up for our newsletter and Penelope Pilot's Page. These monthly
editions will keep you informed and can be forwarded to introduce others
to GWW's mission. We will not share your email address with anyone.
Don't forget newsletter@GirlsWithWings.com may need to be selected
as a safe sender since many filters block the word "girls."

PERMISSION TO USE GWW LINKS?
  • YES! Please let us know if you would like to add links to any of
    www.GirlsWithWings.com's pages to your website.
