The Response has been amazing! I have been busy with my Beechjet course down in
Texas, but I don’t mind at all having to catch up with all of the new volunteers, bios,
and events on the calendar. I am getting new opportunities for volunteers all the time
and have therefore built a “
Calendar” page on the Girls With Wings™ website, so people
can see what’s going on in their area – with contact information if they’re interested in
helping. Also, if you have an event you’d like to publicize, there’s an
event submission
form
. If you’d like to put yourself info out there as a volunteer, you can always post on
the
message board. I still like, as much as possible, to connect people personally when I
find out about an opportunity that will mutually work for both parties. The best way for
me to do this is by having the most complete and accurate information about you,
which can be submitted
here. I will not make this information publicly available. And last
but not least, we need more
bios!
Successful Girl Scout Career Day: I again had the Flight Instrument game available
and it was a hit! Girls of all ages (yes, even the moms) like to figure out what basic
flight instruments do – and there’s the ability to ask more questions for advanced
intellects. Players acquire knowledge they can use. Groups of girls can split up and
have a competition.
Email me if you’d like to make this “game” for your use.
Two of our Girls With Wings are VIPs at the U.S. Space & Rocket
Center.®
Major Jill “Raggz” Long and Trish Beckman are in the list of
dignitaries who will help Space Camp® celebrate 25 years of teaching
students to reach for the stars, July 5 and 21, in the U.S. Space &
Rocket Center’s museum. There are almost a dozen weekly VIP
receptions planned this summer to give the public a chance to meet
and interact with pilots, engineers, astronauts and others who have
made significant contributions to aviation, the aerospace industry
and America’s manned space flight program. See the
press releasesl.

Message Board Question of the Month:  Have you ever been scared while flying?
Sale continues at the store! We need to raise money for our Oshkosh trip. Yes, we are
again going to rent a camper and drive to the Airshow. If you haven’t been, it’s a great time. If
you would like to donate some of your time to working the Girls With Wings booth, we have a
place for you to stay (pictured at left!). Visit the new store at:
